Deep North is the world’s leading provider of SaaS-based AI-driven solutions. Deep North recognizes the importance of taking a proactive, strategic approach to Corporate Responsibility and related issues. We also acknowledge and commit to understanding and addressing the immediate and longer-term challenges to our business and our community. As part of our desire for transparency, we are making available some of our corporate policies for our stakeholders to review.

  1. Climate Change/Biodiversity Policy

Deep North will take actions and encourage its employees and vendors to take actions to address Climate Change, Biodiversity and Sustainable growth including monitoring our air conditioning and heating use, encourage car-pooling, public transportation, work from home and electric vehicle use in addition to other ideas that surface.

  1. Energy Policy and Mandate

Energy management is the responsibility of everyone in our company, guided and supported by the facility/office manager, supervised by our CFO and ultimately our CEO. We will assess our energy performance and share energy use data with all employees. We will create and implement an energy plan to achieve our energy goals. Our use of software and technology that promotes remote working as well as equipment and controls for energy savings will position Deep North as a leader in our industry.

Deep North has established three key energy goals: Reduce kWh energy consumption per employee by 20 percent by 2022, reduce kW peak demand per month by 10 percent, and obtain a minimum 20 percent Investment Return Ratio on efficiency investments.

  1. Environmental Policy

Deep North provides policies to provide a safe, healthful workplace, protect the environment, as well as conserve energy and natural resources. With these policies in place we believe that we can achieve an optimal work environment.

We are committed to:

  • Providing a safe and healthful workplace and ensuring that personnel are properly trained with the appropriate safety and emergency equipment.
  • Being an environmentally responsible neighbor in the community where we operate, and correcting incidents or conditions that endanger health, safety, or the environment.
  • Conserving natural resources by adopting pollution prevention practices. For example, using software and collaboration solutions to minimize travel, extending the life of equipment through preventive maintenance scheduling, and purchasing and reworking used equipment etc.
  • Developing and improving operations and technologies to minimize waste and other pollution, minimize health and safety risks, and dispose of waste safely and responsibly.
  • Ensuring the responsible use of energy throughout our business, including conserving energy, improving energy efficiency, and giving preference to renewable over non-renewable energy when feasible.
  • Participating in efforts to improve environmental protection and understanding. Sharing appropriate pollution prevention technology.
  • Meeting and exceeding all applicable global and local requirements and adhering to stringent requirements no matter where we do business.
  • Promptly reporting all noncompliance issues in accordance with applicable governmental reporting requirements, evaluating causes of noncompliance, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Establishing procedures for periodic review of environmental compliance with all laws and regulations.
  • Establishing procedures to ensure all that employees are knowledgeable of, understand and comply with all applicable environmental laws and regulations.
  • Promptly correcting any practice or condition not in compliance with this policy.
  1. Responsible Procurement and Supply Chain Policy

We also acknowledge and commit to understanding and addressing the immediate and longer-term challenges to our business.

Through this procurement policy, we intend to make our operations more sustainable by:

  • Upholding the laws and regulations of the respective countries we operate in
  • Endorsing the highest standards of economic, social, ethical and environmental practices
  • Identifying and moderating risks associated with our procurement process
  • Communicating the policy with stakeholders (internal and external) and raising awareness amongst our suppliers

In accordance with our commitment to the highest standards, we also expect our suppliers to aspire to the same standards in their business operations, including but not limited to:

Environment:

  • Compliance and adherence to all the applicable environmental laws in respective countries/jurisdiction
  • Undertaking initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility such as:
    • Responsible waste management and disposal
    • Reduction of greenhouse gas and other emissions harmful to the environment
    • Conservation of non-renewable natural resources

Labor and Human Rights:

  • Compliance with all applicable laws, in accordance with the principles of the International Labor Organization, the UN Global Compact and the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights
  • Prohibition of slavery and the use of forced, bonded, or child labor across the supply chain
  • Prohibition of unlawful discrimination and harassment to provide a safe and inclusive work environment

Business Ethics:

  • Obeying all relevant international and domestic laws regarding ethical business practices
  • Demonstrating existence of procedures to prevent:
    • Money laundering
    • Fraud, bribery, corruption
    • Conflicts of interest
    • Data security issues

Community Development:

  • Providing employees with a living wage, at a minimum
  • Partnering with the local governments and communities to improve the education, cultural, economic, and social well-being of communities which they operate in
